Me Before You

Spent several hours at the local library yesterday, unable to decide which books I should take home with me first. I didn't want to clean out the whole library! 

At last I decided to borrow three books I wanted to buy before but then decided for another ones. So I got a swedish crimi bestseller "The Bomber" by Lisa Marklund, "The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window And Disappeared" by Jonas Jonasson and finally the last one "Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes. 

I decided to read the last one first, because I knew what it was about and was in the mood for a little bit of romance.

Well, I started reading it in the yesterday evening and just wasn't able to stop.. then at 1.30 a.m. I realized I really should get some sleep and continued right after waking up. I think I was actually reading even during my breakfast.. It was just too exciting! I finished the book around 1.30 p.m. and since then haven't stopped thinking of it. The story is so strong and sad and makes you realize things like..

..Do you live your life to the fullest?

It's a story about an average girl who has never been thinking about her future and who thinks that is perfectly okay with her life as it is - stuck in a small town, living at her parents', working as a waitress and dating a self-centered sports maniac , until she loses her job and finds another one as a care taker of a physically disabled young man who once was a successful bussinessman enjoying his life and living it at 100% ... until the accident that has completely changed him..

If you are a romantic soul you definitely need to read this. You will laugh, you will cry and maybe this story will make you realize that you wanna change something in the way of living your own life.. until it's too late.. 

My opinion: 

As I said, I enjoyed the book a lot.. I laughed out loud, I was mad, I cried.. but there's a tiny "but" .. I think I didn't cry as much as I wished to.

Let me explain. I think the book is very well written, I empathized with the characters but I think there could have been more romantic moments between Lou and Will. There were some hints but.. I hoped for something more between them. I don't mean sex. Just a longer lasting love, more touches, more kissess..  I wish there was because then the end would touch my heart more deeply.
