I used to be overweight most of my life and it was very hard to change it. I didn't really know what was the reason. I knew I didn't really eat healthy but I also thought it wasn't that bad..
Then a tv show started and it was called "You are what you eat". Each episode was about one overweight person and team of specialists teaching the person about healthy food and healthy life. The most important thing was they taught them not to starve! They explained them their body needed food of course but a different kind of food. No JUNK! They gave the people the right food for a week and also taught them how to cook some good meals and how to work out the best way etc..
In the tv show they went into details of course but this show alone wasn't the only thing that helped me. I bought a book called "Home-made diet in a box". The book explained me how to prepare healthy and balanced food for each day and offered many recipes. This and the tv show both helped me to understand the right way of healthy eating. Of course you also need to move to lose weight and if you hate sports as I do, there is nothing better than long walks with your dog (you should try quick walk rather than slow).
I already wrote a blog about it in Czech and now I'm going to share it on this website but as soon as I have some free time I will translate it into English because I think it is really useful and there are people out there who would appreciate some advice because often you know what to do but don't exactly know how.. :)
